I can envision using HOTS in my kindergarten classroom by possibly posting a blog when we are working on rhyming words. Then my students are to find words that rhyme with the word I posted on my blog and comment back. They would be able to play with the color and font of their text.
If we went on a field trip I could have my students try and blog about their experience and what they learned.
I could use a blog to communicate back and forth with parents (providing they have a computer and internet access) to keep them informed with what is going on in the classroom and it would be a quick way to communicate back and forth to answer any questions the parents or students may have.
The link relates to my grade level.
I like the idea of keeping an ongoing communication session with the rhyming words. I think that students would really enjoy this activity. I also had the idea of communicating with parents through blogs and I think this is a fun communication tool. Great ideas!
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of the students writing about their experiences and what they have learned. This will also help you as a teacher to see if they are learning and understanding what is being taught. You have some wonderful ideas. The blog you found is really neat.
